sleep mode is what causing the big sieze....

i have tried every "power saving feature" and they performed pretty well

when i specifically say my dear mini to go to sleep...when it wakes by touching the power button, i have no user interaction...ie keyboard and mouse dead but video as i would expect it

rtwilson wrote:i am having no joy trying to play a dvd with the mini 10v.

all of the apple software seems to insist on having interal drives.

the macbook has an external dvd drive is supported. i have tried this drive on a apple mini and it stated it would only run on a macbook.

is it possible to get the external drive to be supported on the 10v? i would like to be able to copy a dvd to the hard drive and watch in on a plane for instance. however, none of this stuff seems to work with just any old external dvd drive

The apple Software requires the dvd drive to be internal lide you said. You can do a binary patch to the applicaiotn if you want to (instruction available via google) and it'll let you use an external dvd drive. The Macbook air superdrive is firmware locked to the macbook air. It cannot be used on another machine without replacing the firmware, and the only known way to do that is to replace the controller board.

I've been busy that last week or so, but I'll try to slap you soon with a new build for you to test, if your willing. It should fix a few bugs that are in 0.8.1 and add some new features

very willing. can i test the installer well without reloading the apps? doing time machines just in case....

My BIOS is at A0 if that matters.

i have voodoohda in now. i believe you said that was going away and we were going to go back to applehda with some setting changes to have it behave well.

you are really getting this thing nailed down...way to go!!!....

Lots of things will be changing in the next version. For now, would you ming posting your dsdt file (it should be inside /Extra/). Once I have that, I should be able to verify that the dsdt patch for audio works.

I have a test on Thursday for school so it may take me a few days to get a version for you to test (no more than a week).

something else about using voodoohda that sucked....most people dont know an ACM from a steam pipe. in the pref pane all the audio outputs and inputs would be gibberish to most just trying to adjust a headphone. not one line item said headphone, speaker or mike, it was all very techeze

10 V arrived yesterday (A05 BIOS) and I installed 0.8.1 using 10.5.6 Install. The only difference in the the instructions were the F2 key instead of "2" to get into setup and F12 key instead of "0" key to boot from the USB flash drive. Since my 10v doesn't have an SSD, the install was directly to the HDD. The install went well as did the 10.5.7 update. I then used NetBookInstaller per the instructions as best as I could decipher (Reinstall Extensions wasn't an option, although install was. Hide Files was a checkoff to show files. Also I chose External CD Drive support). Currently experiencing two problems: Audio and Sleep.

Sleep: If I invoke sleep by clicking AppleMenu Sleep, upon waking up (note: wake up is only achieved by pressing power button), the screen comes back on, but the system is unresponsive (mouse and keyboard don't work). Must press on power button to shutdown and reboot 10V. If I sleep by closing lid, the system does come back up (mouse and keyboard works), audio doesn't work

Audio: Doesn't work on every boot and when it does work, it only outputs on the internal speakers, not the headphone. Sometimes (this morning for example) I have to reinstall the kexts using kextHelper0.7 using instructions found in the myDellmini forum. I plan on trying the method outlined in http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/mac-os- ... io-16.html by ToonVox wherein he/she placed five kext's INSIDE to NetBootInstaller's Contents Folder (NetBootInstaller/Contents/Resources/Support Files/Extensions/Mini 10v Extensions) and see if that works.

I have not made any manual edits to the dsdt files

disable legacy usb support in BIOS for the sleep problems.
