This new release bring a lot of changes:
– iOS 6 Compatibility
– Better Duplex printing support
– Menu bar integration
– New Assistant feature to help troubleshooting
– New 14 trial-ware model
As we mentioned in earlier post we tried to move the application to the AppStore but it was rejected by Apple. We decided to bring all the functionality that was planned for the AppStore version in a new v3.0.1 release. It is now more stable than before.
This new release offer a Menubar integration in a very user friendly way:
You will now be able to quickly see which printers are made available for AirPrint. It will also provide a quick way to get to the Application Preference Pane.
It also provide access to an “Assistant” tool that will allow you to send us a list of printers via email in case of problems:
This new version is now moving to a Trial/Donationware model. The application will be fully functional for 14 days after which we ask for a donation. In return we will provide you with a license to remove the trial time limitation. We hope you will understand our choice. We are investing a lot of our time in the support of the application and think it deserve a little something if you find it useful. We let it up to you to decide how much you will donate. We believe users to donate what they think the application is worth to them.
We have also written a small companion application that will allow you to advertise a virtual PDF printer. This will allow you to print to a PDF file instead of an actual printer. Quite handy to same some paper and ink. You can find iPrintPDF over here.
