v2.1b1 (September 5 2011):
– new design to be firewall friendly. Simply add the aparedir helper application located in the helper folder to the allowed applications in the Firewall)
– fix an issue with firewall detection on non Lion systems
To run this new version simply drop the AirPrintActivator folder in the Applications folder and run it.
Grab your copy from the main AirPrintActivator 2 page.
Works great, never had any issues with any version…..except, every reboot brings up a terminal window for aparedir showing something about help with BALANCE. Not sure what BALANCE is, but is there some way that i missed to suppress the terminal window from opening every boot cycle.
My script-fu is growing. Found that i can close window on clean exit, then set osascript to .bash_profile to quit terminal after last window exits. thanx for all the support.
i installed this and it allowed me to see my printers on my iPhone 4S and iPad. we have our printer (hp photosmart 8750) connected to the Time Capsule and that allows us to print wirelessly from our laptops. when i go to print from my iphone it says “you do not have permission to use this printer.” how do i fix this?
My Brother HL-2170W connected to my timecapsule (wired) does not show-up as available printers on my iPad with IOS5.1. Not with this version (2.1b1) or with 1.1.3). I’ve a iMac with 10.6.8.
Hi! IOS 5 is the black beast of AirPrint Activator… DONT’WORK WITH IOS5!!!
ARGHHH! Solve it!!!!! PLEASEEEEEEEE
just used it now. It works great, no problems. I have FiOS internet with router using an Airport Express as a bridge for my wifi signal. I’m Running APAv2.1b1 off a 2010 iMac running Lion 10.7.4. My iOS device is an iPhone 4S version 5.1.1
Hi – am trying to print to an Epson CX7300 usb connected to my iMac (os 10.6.8) from my iPhone 4S and iPad3 but keep on getting “you do not have permission to use this printer” – yet all permissions are allowed in prefs. Also Printopia (trial) works fine – so why wouldn’t APA??
