AirPrint Activator v2.0b10
It’s only been a day since I released v2.0b9 but I fixed an important limitation present in that (and all previous) version… so here is the improved APA v2.0b10.
This new version resolve an issue that some of you might have encountered where a printer with a long name will refuse to be shared… If the name of the printer is too long (more that 63 characters after adding the AirPrint prefix) it would fail to be advertise. This is not the case anymore. I now truncate the name to fit within the limit of Bonjour service advertisement.
You can grab a copy of this new version by going on the main APA v2 page right here.
I also revamped the main page a bit to focus on the strong points of the application!
For suport head over the forum.

Great idea, but I cannot get my Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 to show up on the Airprint shared printer list. It is not pulled into the computer, but rather accessed via WiFi on my home network. Could that be the problem?
Never mind. It started working. Now I wish I could get it to run on my OS X 10.4.11 Mac
Mini. Mthjunk
Can you share it via your Mac? Is the printer advertising itself using the Bonjour protocol? If not it won’t show.

Installed AirPrint Activator v2.0b10 on an iMac Core Duo OS X6.7. iPod touch printing worked great on an Epson Photo, Canon all-in-one and HP laserjet. HOWEVER, after installation, Apple TV (2) stopped working. (picture cycled on for 2 seconds, off for 5 second continuously. Removed AirPrint, Apple TV still would not work. Had a second Apple TV(2) which had not been run after AirPrint install, turned it on after I removed AirPrint. Attempted to Restore first Apple TV – problem did not go away. What are your suggestions.
Get the ATV2 checked by Apple. I have an ATV2 and it never gave any
issues throughout all the dev I did…
Most lilelly HW related. ATV2 is great by the way!
I’m using a shared printer on my MacBook OSX10.6.6. The printer is a usb printer connected to a Windows pc. I would like to be able to use this printer from my iPad2. I have checked ‘Share this printer on the network’ on the MacBook. Airprint Activator v2.0b10 does not list the printer as being shared. Any suggestions?
I love this app! Once set up, it works great and anyone in the house can be logged in to our Mac to allow AirPrinting. I noticed that in v2.0b8 there was a fix that allowed AirPrint to be on after a logoff/login sequence… I haven’t found this to work on our system running Snow Leopard. Could you have a look at this again? Many Thanks
Ruben
I will check it up… In theory it should start right back after you
login… the issue might be when multiple users are using APA it get
confused… I will check into this use case…
Strange, I checked thing up and it is starting just fine on my side… When you say it is not starting… do you mean that when you start the GUI the switch is on OFF instead of ON?
