OSX Lion does not appear to support AirPrint like Snow Leopard did
comment : 8
Just a quick blog post regarding Apple OS X Lion and AirPrint Activator support.
At the moment it appear as if Apple changed how OSX Lion might support AirPrint. I installed a fresh build of OSX Lion and ran AirPrint Activator on it.
AirPrint will make the necessary changes but AirPrint won’t work. Somehow Apple has changed how CUPS and Bonjour integrate. I will start to investigate what might have changed between the two and see if there is a way to get AirPrint to work again on Lion.
Until then enjoy AirPrint on Snow Leopard.
UPDATE:
You can now grab an AirPrint Activator version that work on OSX Lion on this page.

I have folled all of the steps on the installer but still nothing when I print from my iPad.
I still cannot get printing to work even though AirPrint Activator v2.0b16 is showing the network printers. It says printer is offline after it shows number of pages sent. The printer is connected via usb port on apple airport express. It worked fine with same configuration under snow leopard and earlier version of AirpPrint Activator. Any ideas?
Try downloading v2.1b2 and if you are using the OSX Firewall to protect your Mac then add the “aparedir” in the helper folder to the allowed application list. This should fix the Airport Express issue.
Will try earlier version…. Firewall had been off pre & post lion upgrade…thx
Firewall is off as per previous posts…. tried earlier before hp driver update (lion) will try again and let u kno what happens….thx
Just tried v2.1b2 after new hp drivers updated for lion and working great now. Cheers!
Just tried v2.1b2 after new hp drivers updated for lion and working great now from mac book pro, just not from the iMac (which is the one that remains on at all times and is the print server for all iOS devices. Any advice? Perhaps a conflict with some other app or setting? Thanks for whatever help you can offer.
After repairing disk permissions on iMac it is now working perfectly on both macs! Thanks for this great app!
This is a great tip. I will add it to the FAQ in the forum.
