AirPrint Activator v1.1.2
I just corrected a bug with the Activation detection routine. The bug was reported in the support forum and would present itself in the inability to properly “deactivate” AirPrint.
Version 1.1.2 address this issue. I encourage everybody to upgrade to this release if you want to “deactivate” AirPrint.
As usual, you can grab a copy of the latest version on the main AirPrint Activator application page found here.

Safari will not allow activator to download ,on my iPad
You need to download AirPrint Activator on a Mac and not on an iPad 😉
I followed the directions I thought to the T but I can not print my ipad through AirPrint. I did download activator to my mac.
Make sure your iPad is on the same WiFi access point as your Mac. Being on a 3G connection will not work. Only WiFi can work with AirPrint.
Hope this help.

Did everything as prescribed; on 3G access point. Still cannot print from my new iPad. Thanks for the effort.
You state 3G access point… do you mean WiFi access point? AirPrint only work when both the Mac and iDevice are connected to the same WiFi access point (Mac can also be wired to the Access point.
Hope this help.
Hello.
My ipad is on the same WIFI access point as my Mac, but my printer is connected at my TIME MACHINE (not directly on my mac…).
The process is OK, I can see my printer on my ipad, but printing is not OK…
;-(
Not sure why. Many have reported that it work jst fine for them. Might be the kind of printer you have attached to TC? Which brand/model is it? Have you tried connecting the printer directly to your Mac? Does it print that way?
I have now desactivated AIRPRINT ACTIVATOR (+ remove and add the printer), and now it is impossible to print…
error message : “/Library/Printers/Lexmark/filter/pstopsprinter1 failed”
my printer is a LEXMARK E342n
I cannot connecting the printer directly to my mac (I have several macs…)
MAYDAY ! MAYDAY !
I have fresh installed the newest LEXMARK PRINTING DRIVER
I have remove and add the printer
I have the same error : “/Library/Printers/Lexmark/filter/pstopsprinter1 failed”
;-(((((((((
I have desinstalled AIRPRINT ACTIVATOR with CLEAN MY MAC
Remove and Add the printer
It’s ever the same…
No possibility to print with this Mac (where i installed Airprint Activator) !
Printing with my others macs is OK… (the printer is ever connected with the AIRPORT TIME CAPSULE…)
What can I do to retablish the situation ?
Might want to try this. I did a quick google and this came up. Try typing the following at the terminal:
sudo ln -s /Library/Printers/Lexmark/filter/pstopsprinter1 /Library/Printers/Lexmark/filter/pstopsprinter
Not sure but apparently it helped someone with a similar printing issue.
I type the command at the terminal
But I still have the same error message…
It’s really not cool..
Not sure how I can you further beside going to your place 😉 One possibility is to try to de-install the Lexmark drivers… if there is such a thing.
I wish I could help you more but unfortunately the error with the Lexmark is not directly caused by AirPrint Activator and I don’t know the specific of your printers drivers install routine. So it is hard to know what might be wrong.
I googled the uninstalled procedure for you: http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=content&id=HO774&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&userlocale=EN_US&segment=SUPPORT&productCode=LEXMARK_X75&searchid=1278532304163
Give that a try and see if download the most recent version of the drivers and re-installing those will fix it.
Next thing would be a full OS install I guess.
Lexmark printer uninstalled + combo 1.6.6 re-installed + new printer LEXMARK installed
I still have the same problem…
where is a twist ?
Try using the terminal command I suggested in a previous post. Might fix it.
Airprint activator does not touch any actual printer drivers. It only
change the bonjour advertisement string. I think that the error you
see is due to a failed driver install.
Try removing the printer one more time, reboot, and add it again.
Hopefully it will help get things straigth.
Does this application worki if my iTunes is on a windows 7 machine and I connect my iPad to the windows computer?
No, you need to run iTunes on OSX. I think there is a solution out
there for windows based airprint… But i never tried it.
i see min osx is 10.6.6, so I am assuming there is no print activator for 10.5.8 or earlier
This is correct. AirPrint acrobatie make use of feutres Thatcher where introduced in 10.6.6.

Maybe I am to dumb… but it does not work with AirPrint v.1.1.2 on with my iPad. What probably do I make wrong? (iMac 12.5″ – OSX.6.6). I do not like to make certain changes in the Sys Prefs…
Make sure you are using iTunes 10.1+.
Changes to the printers in Sys Prefs is required. It is something that I have not been able to work around yet.
Cheers
thx – I did – after all – cancel my printer in the sys ref (printer & fax) and established the printer (Canon iP4700) again. Nothing happend – but the next day – it did work ok… lol
sometimes it’s better to sleep it over.
I’m trying to run this on my Mac Mini (Core Duo 1.5 GHz) running 10.6.6 with iTunes 10.1+. The app has a crossed-out icon over it and when I try to run it I get the message “You can’t open AirPrintActivator because it is not supported on this type of Mac.” Huh?
This is strange. Not sure why it the latest version does this. I will research a fix. In the mean time you can download the previous release that should work on your platform:
http://netputing.com/wp-content/plugins/download-monitor/download.php?id=12
Only difference with 1.1.3 is that the latest version fixed a bug with the Donation window coming back even if you donated. Should not be an issue since you only need to use the application once 😉
Cheers
Try the previous version. For some reason the latest 1.1.3 won’t work on some systems. I have not found out why yet.
Mac Pro. Mac OS X 10.6.6, iTunes 10.1.2. iPad is on the same WiFi network as the Mac.
I had tried AirPrint Hactivator and ignored the two warnings about the versions. Shared my printers (two HP’s).
iPad showed no printers.
Then I found AirPrint Activator 1.1.2. Downloaded it, ran Hactivator to disable.
Ran Activator, checked sharing, which was OK.
iPad still does not show any printers.
miracle? As I stated earlier (see below) I did not show up my printer on the iPad. Then – to my surprise, the next day it did work and I printed (I still have the print…). But now it does not work any more… maybe I am insane? I tryed out “everything” – no positive result! Giving up for the moment, being an Mac user since 1986 – I am a user not a freak.
An important point is that your iDevice need to connect over WiFi to your access point that also host your Mac sharing the printers. They both need to be on the same network for Airprint to work.
Hope this will get you going.
You do meet the minimum requirement, right? 10.6.5+ and iTunes 10.1+.
Next you need to make sure you removed and added back the printer you want to share to your iDevices.
Last, you need to make sure you are actually sharing the printer.

I think I followed the instructions properly but my iPhone 4 and iPad both do not find printers. “No Printers Found” is the standard display. I am trying to print to an Epson Artisan 800. I can print wirelessly to it via my MacBook Air and MacBook laptops. It is plugged into the USB port of my Airport Extreme router. Any thoughts?

I have installed the airprint activator, removed my canon MG5200 series printer and re-added it as a shared printer. However, in the “Printers Available for Air Printing” these printers still don’t show up. I’m not sure why. Could it be, because my imac is hard wired to the router and the printer and ipad is wireless? I really want to get this to work and have been trying for almost 90 minutes now. Any help is appreciated!!
how do i uninstall v1 of airprinter so i can use v.2
Everything worked out fine with the installation, but then when I went to print to the printer connected to my iMac from my iPad, I got the message “You do not have permission to use this printer”
I tried it again and it works! Whoo hoo! Thanks! First print from my iPad.
Cannot get Airprint Activator 2.1b4 to work. The share printers show up on the iPad2 shared from mac OS 10.7.2. I can submit the job but nothing prints. The job never show up in the printer’s queue. Any hope?
